Joseph Lullo
Sergeant

Sergeant Lullo began his career with the Addison Police Department in October of 1987. While serving in the Patrol Division, he received training and became certified as an Evidence Technician on February 11, 1991. During his time serving as an Evidence Technician, he had the opportunity to collect evidence and process a wide variety of crime scenes from burglaries to motor vehicle through death scene investigations.

As a Patrol Officer, Sergeant Lullo had also been trained as a Juvenile Officer, Breath Operator, and Field Training Officer while serving in the Patrol Division.

In June 1995, Sergeant Lullo was assigned to the Investigations Unit as a Detective assigned to Indian Trail Junior High School. During the time he was in the Investigation Unit, Sergeant Lullo was assigned to work on several high profile murder investigations. Sergeant Lullo also received training in the areas of child abuse and neglect, interviewing and interrogation, background investigations, and community policing.

On December 8, 1997, Sergeant Lullo was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was assigned to the Patrol Division. In addition to regular patrol supervisor responsibilities, Sergeant Lullo was also responsible for supervising the Bicycle Patrol Unit, the Physical Fitness Committee, and the Major Crimes Unit.

On June 28, 1999, Sergeant Lullo was promoted to the rank of Commander and was responsible for Beats 2 and 5, the Traffic Unit and the Evidence Technicians.

On June 11, 2001, Sergeant Lullo received from Northwestern University an Award of Achievement after the successful completion of 200 hours of training in the area of Criminal Investigation Management.

On October 23, 2001, Sergeant Lullo returned to the rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant Lullo has continued his education and attained his Associates degree from the College of DuPage in June 2005 and has also received a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Benedictine University in August 2008.

Sergeant Lullo is an active member of the community and has coached boy’s baseball through the Addison Recreation Club and volunteers with service organizations within the Village of Addison. Sergeant Lullo is also an elected member of the Addison School District 4 Board of Education.

Sergeant Lullo currently oversees the day shift Patrol Division.
