Roger Saran
Sergeant

Sergeant Saran began his law enforcement career in 1982. He is a graduate of Western Illinois University where he received a Bachelor's degree majoring in Law Enforcement Administration and a minor in Business. He graduated with honors.

While assigned as a Patrolman, Sergeant Saran served as a Field Training Officer, Evidence Technician assigned to the Major Crimes Unit, Fire/Arson Investigator, Juvenile Officer, Breathalyzer Operator, Child Restraint Specialist, Crash Investigator, Second Division Vehicle Enforcement Officer, and Second Division Vehicle Inspector.

In September of 2007, he was promoted to Sergeant assigned to the Patrol Division. He is currently assigned to supervise the day shift. He is a Field Training supervisor for new recruits. He is assigned lead supervisor for Evidence Technicians and second for major crashes. He is also an instructor for the Citizens Academy and CERTS.
