Russ Schecht
Sergeant

Sergeant Schecht started his law enforcement career with the Addison Police Department in 1980. He is a graduate of Western Illinois University where he received a Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement Administration. In 1988, Sergeant Schecht started up the first Gang Tactical Unit in DuPage County and stayed in the unit for 16 years. He is a court certified expert in street gangs and continues to instruct classes on gang identification throughout the State. He is also an Instructor at the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy.

Sergeant Schecht has also held the position of Evidence Technician, Field Training Officer and Juvenile Officer and is a Hostage Negotiator. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2005 and is assigned to the Field Services Division.
