Deputy Chief Brian Goss has been with the Addison Police Department since 1997. His first assignment was in the Field Services Division as a Patrolman. He was then assigned to the Criminal Investigations Section in February of 2000. In May of 2008, he was promoted to Sergeant, and in February of 2010, he was reassigned back to the Criminal Investigations Section as Detective Sergeant. In May of 2014, he was promoted to Detective Commander, and on September 2, 2014, he became Deputy Chief of the Field Services Division.
Deputy Chief Goss has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from North Central College and a Masters of Science in Public Administration from Lewis University. He has been trained as a Field Training Officer, a Juvenile Officer and an Evidence Technician and was in the Bike Patrol Unit. He is a graduate of the Illinois Standards and Training Boards Police Executive Role in the 21st Century, Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and the 267th Session of the FBI National Academy.
