Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
The Crime Prevention Section works with the Village of Addison Community Development Department to recommend crime prevention strategies in the design and construction of residential and commercial buildings. CPTED includes many principals targeting the design, layout lighting, and physical look of an area in an effort to reduce the likelihood of burglaries and other criminal activity.

CONGRATULATIONS to the owners of the following properties for becoming fully certified in all  three phases of the CRIME FREE MULTI-HOUSING PROGRAM.  The owners of these properties were recognized in front of the Village Board for their dedication to the Crime Free Program and their commitment to working to keep criminal activity off of their rental properties.  The owners are now able to purchase the Crime Free signs to display on their properties and to use the Crime Free logo in their advertisements.
