FRANK POPE

Frank Pope
Detective Commander

Detective Commander Pope has been with the Addison Police Department since 2005. He attended the College of DuPage, as well as Western Illinois University, where he studied Law Enforcement and Justice Administration.

While Detective Commander Pope was assigned to the Field Services Division, he worked as a Juvenile Officer and a Breath Alcohol Operator. He is currently a Rapid Deployment Instructor and STOPS (Strategies & Tactics of Patrol Stops) Instructor.

In 2008, Detective Commander Pope was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Section as a General Detective. During that time, he conducted hundreds of investigations related to violent crimes, property crimes, narcotics and gang crimes.

In 2012, Detective Commander Pope was assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a Task Force Officer. During his time as a Task Force Officer, he worked hundreds of narcotic and money laundering investigations at the federal level, both within the United States as well as internationally. Detective Commander Pope was with the DEA until his promotion in 2021 when he was assigned back to the Field Services Division until June of 2022 when he was assigned to the Investigations Section. On February 27, 2023, he was appointed Detective Commander.

Detective Commander Pope was a previous member of the DuPage County Major Crimes Task Force and is a current member of the DuPage Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigations Team (MERIT) assigned as a Major Crimes Investigator.

Detective Commander Pope has received numerous awards and commendations during his time with the Addison Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
