Sergeant Kazak was hired in 2014 after earning a Bachelor's Kazakdegree in Criminal Justice and Political Science at the University of St. Francis. He spent six years in the Field Services Division, earning specialties such as Juvenile Officer, Field Training Officer, Evidence Technician, Breath Operator, and Crisis Intervention Team member.

In 2020, Sergeant Kazak was assigned to the Crime Prevention Unit and became certified in teaching numerous curricula such as the DARE, GREAT, CERT, and Explorer programs, and was also an ALICE trainer.

In 2022, Sergeant Kazak became the Special Projects Unit Officer for the Police Department. This position is responsible for conducting research, collecting data, compiling and interpreting statistics, and making recommendations for programs and procedures within the Department. Some of the job titles under this position include Accreditation Manager, Training Coordinator, Grant Manager, and Public Information Officer.

In February of 2024, Sergeant Kazak was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and is currently assigned to the Field Services Division.
